The Autobiography of a First World War Soldier

AJ King received his "call up" in March 1918.  This autobiography tells of his adventures until he was shot in the shoulder on 18th September and invalided home.

In the Spring of 1918 the Germans mounted an offensive to try and defeat the Allied Forces before the Americans could be too heavily involved. The German forces made a few miles progress but the Allied line held.   In July/August Australian and American forces launched a counter-offensive and it is this which AJ King seems to be supporting, particulalry around Albert and Fricourt Ridge.
